1800ES, fuel injected from the factoryVolvo put electronic fuel injection on the 1800E in 1970, and it's been on nearly every Volvo sold here since the mid-1970s. The systems have changed a lot since then, and we've worked on each kind as it came along.
When a fuel-injected engine runs badly, the cause can be the fuel side, a sensor or a vacuum leak. We test before we replace parts, so you pay for the fix and not for guesses.

Fuel Injection: what people ask us.
Do my injectors need cleaning?
Sometimes, but not as a routine. If the car runs well, good fuel and a fresh fuel filter are usually enough. We test before recommending a cleaning or new injectors.
My older Volvo cranks but won't start. Is it the fuel injection?
It could be. On a 240 or 740, a failed fuel pump relay is a common cause. We check fuel and spark before replacing any parts.
Do you work on the fuel injection in classic Volvos?
Yes. That includes the Bosch systems on the 1800E, 140 and early 240, along with the carburetors on the cars that came before.
